Comedy Central is picking up another spin-off from "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart." It has signed for "Important Things with Demetri Martin," which is expected to premiere during the second half of 2008. Important Things is a stream-of-consciousness sketch and variety show from comedian Demetri Martin. In each episode, Martin analyzes a single topic through the prism of his unique point of view. Topics covered might include everything from "What Happens After We Die" to "Apples."
Important Things with Demetri Martin is the second series pick-up under Comedy Central’s first-look agreement with Jon Stewart’s Busboy Productions, Inc. The show is produced by Busboy in association with One Verse Inc. and is executive produced by Stewart and Martin. Rich Korson and Chris McShane are the executives in charge of production for Busboy. Lou Wallach and Dan Powell are the executives in charge of production for Comedy Central.
