THIS TV Station’s Mandatory DBS Denial Is Affirmed

In October 2019, on delegated authority, the FCC’s Media Bureau said no to a Petition for Declaratory Ruling filed by the owner/operator of a low-power TV station in West Virginia. He had been unsuccessful in getting the nation’s two Direct Broadcast Satellite service providers to add the station to their respective local market lineups.

Naturally, the station’s owner filed an Application for Review, tossing the matter in front of the five Commissioners.

They’ve just upheld the Media Bureau’s decision.
