Thursday NBC line-up holds solid; , 'Community' lead the way

At 8 p.m. ET, “Community” averaged a 1.9/6 in 18-49 and 4.6 million viewers overall.  “Community” matched NBC’s average in the slot for the traditional ’09-10 season (1.9, non-sports, “live plus same day”).  In the time period last night, “Community” finished within 1 share of the time-period lead in adults 18-49 and ranked #1 among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW in adults 18-34 (tie) and men 18-34.


At 8:30 ET, “30 Rock” (2.3/6 in 18-49, 5.0 million viewers overall) finished within 1 share of the time-period lead in adults 18-49 and was the #1 program among ABC, CBS, NBC and CW in adults 18-49, men 18-34 and men 18-49.
“30 Rock” built by 21 percent on its lead-in from “Community” and also generated a 21 percent increase on NBC’s slot average during the ’09-10 traditional season (1.9, non-sports, “live plus same day”).  The build on lead-in is a substantial jump versus NBC’s average in the slot last season, when the network was flat in this time period versus original lead-ins from “Community.”

At 9 p.m. ET, “The Office” (3.7/10 in 18-49, 7.3 million viewers overall) ranked #2 in the time period in adults 18-49 and was #1 ahead of ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy,” Fox’s “Fringe” and CBS’s “CSI” encore in adults 18-34, men 18-34, men 18-49 and men 25-54.  Versus its averages for last May’s sweep, “The Office” is up 6 percent in 18-49 rating (3.7 vs. 3.5) and 8 percent in total viewers (7.309 million vs. 6.771 million).
 
“The Office” is the #2 telecast on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox or CW Thursday night in adults 18-49, behind only “Grey’s Anatomy,” and is #1 for the night in adults 18-34.
At 9:30 ET, “Outsourced” (2.5/7 in 18-49, 5.4 million viewers overall) is the time period’s #2 telecast on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox or CW in adults 18-49 and is #1 in men 18-34, men 18-49 and men 25-54 (tie).

So far this season, “Outsourced” has added an average 22 percent to its 18-49 rating when going from these next-day “live plus same day” ratings to the show’s “live plus seven day” figure.  On a percentage basis, “Outsourced” generates #1 biggest increase when going from “live plus same day” to “live plus seven” among all first-year half-hour comedies on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox or CW.  In total viewers, “Outsourced” is adding 20 percent when going from “live plus same day” to “live plus seven day” Nielsens, also the biggest percentage increase for a first-year half-hour comedy on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox or CW.

At 10 p.m. ET, “The Apprentice” (1.4/4 in 18-49, 4.1 million viewers overall) matched its highest 18-49 rating since September 16 and delivered its biggest overall audience since that same date, the night of the show’s season premiere.  This week’s “Apprentice” is up versus the prior week’s holiday-impacted telecast by 56 percent in 18-49 rating (1.4 vs. 0.9) and 23 percent in total viewers (4.110 million vs. 3.349 million). 
 
So far this season, “The Apprentice” has added an average 27 percent to its 18-49 rating when going from these next-day “live plus same day” ratings to the show’s “live plus seven day” figure.  On a percentage basis, “The Apprentice” is tied for the #1 biggest increase going from “live plus same day” to “live plus seven” among all unscripted shows on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox or CW.  In total viewers, “The Apprentice” is adding 22 percent when going from “live plus same day” to “live plus seven day” Nielsens, the biggest percentage increase for an unscripted show on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox or CW.
