Add the cities of Norfolk, Newport News, Portsmouth and Virginia Beach to the list of locales where NEXTGEN TV programming is now available for those with a ATSC 3.0-enabled television set.
Four TV signals are involved, three of which are owned by Nexstar Media Group. The fourth is a MyNetwork TV affiliate owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group.
With BitPath, which is developing new data broadcasting services, leading the planning process and coordinating efforts, Nexstar’s ABC affiliated WAVY-10 and FOX siblings WVBT-43 and WNLO-CD 14 and Sinclair’s WTVZ-33 have started broadcasting in the new ATSC 3.0-powered standard.
The stations will be charter members of BitPath’s broadcast data network, which will launch in 2021.
