Its TWCable TV app for the Apple iPad has added some culture: 37 popular Spanish-language national and international channels are now available at no additional charge to Time Warner Cable video customers that subscribe to those channels, including “El Paquetazo” digital cable subscribers.

New networks include Discovery Español, CNN Español, Boomerang Español, Caracol, and Disney XD Español. They join the five Spanish-language channels already available: Galavision, Gol TV, History en Español, La Familia Cosmovision, and Mun2.

El Paquetazo, available in New York, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, Los Angeles and San Diego, offers a mixture of more than 140 English and Spanish-language channels including news, music, entertainment, sports and family programming as well as Lo Mejor On Demand. For those living in the New York City area, El Paquetazo also includes NY1 Noticias, the only local Spanish-language news channel operating 24-hours, seven days a week. Many of the channels that are being added are also part of Time Warner Cable’s Nuestra Tele and Mas Canales tiers.

The move comes after the launch of TWCable TV 2.0, which offers the ability to use the iPad as a remote control and to program and manage their DVRs; and the launch of TWCable TV 2.5 which added search, parental control & closed captioning.
