The Nashville Network welcomed its latest affiliate WBMM – Montgomery-Selma, AL (DMA 118). WBMM, owned and operated by Alabama Telecasters, Inc./Bahakel Communications, will begin broadcasting Luken Communications’ TNN 10/1 over-the-air on channel 22.2. Cable carriage information will be forthcoming. The Nashville Network is a partnership between Jim Owens Entertainment and Luken Communications.
Matt Winn, Executive Vice President of TNN Television, LLC says, “We are thrilled to welcome our first Bahakel Communications station, WBMM, to the TNN family.” Winn adds, “We believe our unique blend of classic and current country music and entertainment programming will be well received in Montgomery by viewers and advertisers.”
“We’re extremely pleased to add The Nashville Network to our offering of stations here in Montgomery,” said Jesse Grear, Vice President and General Manager of the Alabama News Network, which includes CBS8, ABC Montgomery, the CW Montgomery, MeTV, and now, TNN. Grear adds, “Our goal is to offer our viewers a variety of programming that can reach every possible audience and extend our News brand. When severe weather hits or breaking news happens we can go “live” across all 5 stations to keep our viewers informed and safe, and TNN programming gives us another audience to do this with. TNN offers quality programming that targets those interested in the country genre, which as you know, is huge in the South.”
TNN, originally launched as a cable network featuring country music programming, returned as a broadcast television network last November. Programming is comprised of syndicated and first run programming along with digitally restored content pulled from the vaults on Music Row, creating an experience that brings delight to country music lovers of every generation. The program lineup includes The Rick & Bubba Show, Crook and Chase, Nashville Now, The Country Vibe, Music City Tonight, Gaither Gospel Hour and Larry’s Country Diner.
Other Luken networks include Retro Television (RTV), My Family TV, TUFF TV, PBJ, MyCarTV and Frost Great Outdoors.
