CBS says its Sunday broadcast of “The 63rd Annual Tony Awards delivered its best ratings since 2006, posting double digit percentage gains in viewers and key demographics over last year, according to Nielsen preliminary live plus same day ratings.
The Tony Awards, hosted by Neil Patrick Harris, was second in households (4.9/09) and viewers (7.45m), while averaging a (1.8/05) in adults 25-54 and 1.3/04 in adults 18-49. Compared to last year’s ceremony (6/15/08), The Tonys were up +11% in households (from 4.4/09), +20% in adults 25-54 (from 1.5/04), +18% in adults 18-49 (from 1.1/03) and added +1.18m viewers (from 6.27m, +19%).
