There are a lot of things to consider before taking children on vacation into one of America’s large cities. Pricing is a big one, and simply having kid-friendly accommodations and restaurant options is another. Oh, and points of interest is key.
Family Vacation Critic has taken these and other factors into account, and come up with a list of the top ten cities in terms of family-friendliness.
It addresses the following concerns expressed by parents in a poll:
40% cite the lack of hotels that are good for kids and reasonably priced
21% find it difficult to locate the best attractions in the city
14% worry about the lack of kid-friendly restaurants
13% find transportation around the city to be a problem.
“There are a number of factors for families to consider when visiting a city with kids, but planning in advance can help cut down the stress and ensure a successful family vacation,” says Lissa Poirot, executive editor of Family Vacation Critic. “The best cities for families include a variety of kid-friendly hotels at a range of price points; plenty of fun attractions, parks and family-friendly activities; and an easy-to-navigate transportation system.”
