Townsquare Media’s ‘Digital First’ Strategy Delivers Big Q1 Results

It has been preaching its uniqueness as a local media company that’s put digital at the forefront of its business operations, thus giving it the ability to generate revenue that its peers can’t necessarily obtain in the same manner and style.


Townsquare Media‘s mantra is that it is a “digital first” company, focused on the dollar-rich markets outside of the top 50 DMAs that haven’t experienced the erosion and heavy competition for advertising as some of the nation’s biggest markets. In Q1 2022, the corporate game plan for Townsquare paid off: As other local media companies are working hard to get back to 2019 levels, it posted the highest Q1 revenue and Townsquare’s highest Q1 profit ever.
