Townsquare prunes its Texas portfolio

Radio group Townsquare Media is divesting an AM station that serves part of the Tyler-Longview market, and in so doing, providing an AM partner for what is now a standalone FM there.

The station is KDOK-AM Kilgore TX. It’s a Class C on 1240 kHz with 1 kW-U, ND.

The buyer is Chalk Hill Communications LLC, headed by Chuck Conrad.

The price will be a $65K cash.

The Tyler-Longview market covers a fair bit of geography – more than KDOK is able to cover. It serves the eastern, Longview portion of the market.

The same can be said for Chalk Hill’s KZQX-FM Tatum TX, which is also oriented to the Longview side of the market. It’s a Class A on 100.3 MHz with 2.45 kW @ 518’. It uses a Standards format.
