An Entercom Alum Returns As Sacramento OM

More than 16 years after departing Entercom Communications, a former OM of the company’s Kansas City stations is relocating to Sacramento to take on a similar role for the radio broadcaster.

The selection comes after this individual served in a top Dallas-based role for Townsquare Media from November 2013-July 2016 and spent more than a decade as Clear Channel’s Dallas and Houston OM.

Taking the role is Vince Richards, who has been GM of CSL Entertainment Inc. since August 2016. He took the Plano, Tex.-based role after exiting from Townsquare Media’s National OM role.

Taking the role at CSL routed Richards back into the live entertainment arena: From October 2011-November 2013 he served as the Live Nation Media Events Coordinator for Right Arm Entertainment.

However, it is longtime experience in radio that led to Richards’ newest move, and return to Entercom. From March 1996-September 2001, he led the strategic programming and research development for the company’s four stations in Kansas City.

Now, Richards will oversee programming duties for Entercom’s six stations in Sacramento: Active Rock KRXQ-FM, Alternative KKDO-FM, CHR/Pop KUDL-FM “106.5 The End,” Classic Rock KSEG-FM, CHR/Rhythmic KSFM-FM and KIFM-AM “ESPN Radio 1320.”

Richards reports to SVP/Market Manager Lance Richard, who said his team is “excited to be partnering with a leader like Vince that can take an already successful group of brands to even greater heights.”

Richards added, “Sacramento is one of the crown jewel markets in the company with a tradition of excellence and an incredibly talented and passionate staff. Thanks to [company executives] Pat Paxton, Dave Richards and Lance Richard for passing me the torch and the opportunity to lead this awesome staff.”

Richards takes over programming duties from Jim Fox, who ironically was recently named VP/Music Programming at Entercom/Dallas.
