Toys R Us Ramps Up Holiday Advertising At Cable

The push for Christmas and Hanukkah sales from a major toy and hobby retailer is on, and local spots on cable TV channels are the main method Toys R Us seeks to lure in the shoppers.

The venerable retailer is at No. 7 in the latest Media Monitors Cable Spot Ten report, thanks to 26,359 spots.

GEICO was No. 1 again with 61,225 spots, while JCPenney advanced from No. 16 to No. 2 with 40,018 ads.

Progressive held onto third place, clearing 35,261 commercials while Walmart surged from No. 26 to No. 6, with 26,660 commercials.
