Traficant beams up onto Cleveland AM radio

Clear Channel is providing a broadcast platform for former US Rep. Jim Traficant (D-OH) on its WTAM-AM on Cleveland. Traficant, who was known for his highly idiosyncratic floor speeches while a member of the House and served time on conviction for several charges, is hoping to build the gig into a national syndication deal.

According to The Vindicator/vindy.com, Traficant has a manager in place to shop his name around – George Saadi of Ace’s Choice Entertainment. Traficant has done radio work both before and after his jail time.

Traficant’s speeches covered a wide variety of topics, and usually ended with his trademark closing phrase, “beam me up.”

The WTAM show will be on Saturdays from 1PM-4PM.
