According to brokerage Kalil and Co., a buyer has been found for KCKO-FM CP, a DIY project situated on the I-19 corridor of Arizona just north of Nogales and the border with Mexico.
The buyer is JJS Media Inc., headed by Martha Ponce.
The seller is Cochise Media Licenses LLC, headed by Ted Tucker Sr. and Jana Tucker.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The station is a Class A licensed to Rio Rico AZ, on 107.9 MHz with 1 kW @ 659’. The town is due south of Tucson but does not come close to putting a contour there.
Ted Tucker Sr. acquired the station a couple years back pursuant to a contract dated 9/24/10. The seller was Skywest Media LLC, headed by Ted Tucker Jr., and the terms were 100% debt forgiveness tied to a promissory note with a face value of $354K.
