Nancy Epperson’s Chesapeake-Portsmouth Broadcasting is spending $200K to add a translator to its portfolio. The facility will join the company’s AM station in the market.

The station is W271AP. Licensed to Jacksonville, it boasts but 7 Watts of output, but does beam it over the market from a lofty 917’ HAAT antenna.

The seller is Reach Communications.

C-PB owns and operates conservative talker WBOB-AM in the market. Nancy Epperson also has an interest in a non-profit entity that operates three FMs in the Jacksonville area.

Greg Guy of Patrick Communications, who represented the seller, pegged the price for the translator at $200K cash. Eddie Esserman of Media Services Group represented the buyer.
