Tribune reups with ABC

ABCIn all, three stations are affected by a new affiliation pact between television group Tribune and Walt Disney’s ABC Television Network.
Two of the stations are O&Os, and the other is received support from Tribune in a shared services agreement.


The owned stations are WGNO in New Orleans and WQAD in Quad Cities. The other, Dreamcatcher’s WNEP, is located in Providence.

Terms of the agreement were not released, other than it extends the stations’ affiliation with ABC though 2019.

“This long-term, comprehensive agreement is testimony to the strength of our partnership with ABC Television,” said Larry Wert, president of broadcast media for Tribune Broadcasting. “It enables us to provide an array of high quality programming to viewers in our local ABC Television communities, including tremendous live events such as next month’s Oscars, as well as local news, sports and entertainment.”
