Triton Digital Media buys Ando Media


Triton Digital, provider of digital applications, services and content to the broadcast industry, has acquired Ando Media. Ando works with over 6,800 affiliates, and is a major player in the audience measurement and ad-replacement for terrestrial broadcasters.

Ando also recently merged with Spacial Audio. Spacial provides automation, ad-insertion and an array of other digital services to primarily pure-play webcasters.

“We believe Ando fills a critically important need in our industry’s growing digital value chain.  Connecting and expanding Ando’s dynamic technology with Triton Digital’s solutions will accelerate digital revenue growth for the industry,” said Mike Agovino, Triton Media Group COO.

Earlier this year Ando announced the development of Targeted Ad Injector, server-side ad serving technology, which allows for enhanced targeting of streaming campaigns.

Triton Digital services over 4,500 affiliations for its various digital solutions, including Streaming, Text Messaging, Loyalty, Music Discovery, Video, Content Management Systems, Music News Content and Local Search.

Neal Schore, Triton Media Group CEO, tells RBR/TVBR: “This is really about trying to be an industry leader in the digital space and to expand digital dollars –new revenue — for both broadcasters and internet-only audio providers. We see this combined entity as attracting more and more mainstream advertisers — by its sheer reach and audience numbers, along with precise targetability and measurability for each dollar spent.”

RBR/TVBR observation: This is one of the hottest industries right now. Even in a deep recession, ad dollars keep heading to digital. Reminds us of some of the rampant deal-making after radio’s consolidation. The more your station is entrenched in digital, the better.

This deal also is a major rep deal. Remember Katz Online Network and Ando Media announced in April that they have extended their agreement whereby Katz will continue to utilize Ando’s Webcast Metrics as the standard audience measurement platform. “As more networks adopt this channel and the Ando measurement platform, it will now be available to all national sales agents in the digital audio space.”
