PORTLAND, ORE. — Sinclair Broadcast Group has asked its GM of its Boise, Idaho duopoly to pack his bags and truck west along Interstate 84 to the Rose City to take on a bigger role at the media company seeking to complete its merger with Tribune Media.

Robert Truman, GM of Sinclair’s CBS affiliated KBOI-TV and KYUU-TV, a CW Plus affiliate, has officially been promoted to a similar role at ABC affiliate KATU-2 and Univision affiliated sibling KUNP-TV here in Oregon’s biggest market.

Truman continues to report to Sinclair television group EVP/COO Steve Marks, who said, “Robert has been with Sinclair for five years and in the television business for nearly twenty. His leadership in Boise has been terrific and we are confident that his success there will translate into great successes at our Portland stations.”

Truman gained his previous role in 2014, rising from GSM — a job he gained in 2012. He has also worked in sales at various television stations in Boise, Seattle and Salt Lake City since 2000.
