Trump may use his TV show as partial presidential launching pad

According to Newsmax, Donald Trump is going to use the season finale of “The Celebrity Apprentice” not to announce whether or not he intends to throw his hat in the ring for the White House race in 2012, but to announce when he will announce his intentions. Meanwhile, one member of the US House of Representatives says Trump should be fired by NBC.

The last show of Trump’s popular reality show is on the schedule for 5/22/11. According to Newsmax, Trump will say that a few days in the future, he will make an appearance at Trump Towers to inform the world of his political intentions.

According to the report, recently-installed Republican National Committee head Reince Priebus has pronounced Trump to be a “credible” possible candidate after meeting with him recently.

Meanwhile, outspoken Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-NY) says that Trump is already acting like a candidate, and for that reason should be taken off the airwaves.

According to Hillicon Valley, Weiner made his views known the new-fangled way, via a Twitter message. It read, “There is no law against stupid, but when isComcast/NBC/Kabletown gonna fire Trump? #MaybeWeDoNeedSuchALaw”

Hillicon noted the exit of Fred Thompson from his TV gig back when he ran in the Republican presidential primary in 2008.

Further, both Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum were recently relieved of their on-air duties at Fox News Network due to their presidential campaign-related activities.
