As TV Guide Network continues to add more original content to its programming line-up, its latest deal is an add-on. It’s teamed up with Larry David to launch exclusive, never-before-seen extras that will air in conjunction with run of David’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm” series on the network starting this summer.

“Curb Your Enthusiasm” originally ran on HBO. When the episodes are rerun on TV Guide Network, the additional show,  “Curb Your Enthusiasm: The Discussion” will be hosted by comedienne and series regular Susie Essman (Susie Greene) and will feature a panel of high profile guest stars, media pundits and prominent social figures who will debate moral implications featured in each episode. “Curb Your Enthusiasm” will make its basic cable debut on TV Guide Network on Wednesday, June 2nd at 10:00 pm ET/PT.

“Finally, thanks to the TV Guide Network, I’ll get a chance to watch actual, intelligent people discuss and debate the issues addressed on ‘Curb.’ Now if only someone could tell me where this alleged ‘network’ is, I might even watch it,” said Larry David with his usual sarcasm.

“Thanks to Larry, I am on a first name basis with the premium cable audience. And now with TV Guide Network’s series run of ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm,’ I’ll get to be on a first name basis with the basic cable audience, which let’s face it, is much, much bigger. My goal is to make this the best seven minute panel show on TV,” said Essman.

In addition, TV Guide Network has hired acclaimed television producer Scott Carter – who was Executive Producer, “Real Time with Bill Maher” and “Politically Incorrect” – who will work in collaboration with Larry David to develop and produce the extras. “Curb Your Enthusiasm: The Discussion” will air immediately following each episode of “Curb Your Enthusiasm” and will run approximately seven to eight minutes in length each.

“We are honored and thrilled to be working with Larry David and Scott Carter to create a series of original extras that will undoubtedly engage both new and long-time fans of ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm,’” said Diane Robina, Executive Vice President, Programming & Marketing for TV Guide Network. “Their hands-on involvement will ensure that the extras are carefully crafted and set the appropriate tone for a show as brilliant as ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm.’”

“Curb Your Enthusiasm” stars Larry David as himself in an unsparing but tongue-in-cheek depiction of his life. Self-centered, misanthropic and regularly difficult, Larry creates awkwardness and discomfort in social situations. His problems are often caused by his neuroses and obstinate faith in his understanding of ethics and etiquette. “Curb Your Enthusiasm: The Discussion” will highlight a specific moral issue or ethical situation sparked by Larry as featured in an episode of the series. An example from the show may be, if a blind friend started dating a person you found to be unattractive, should you tell your friend? A distinguished panel of guests, moderated by Susie Essman, will watch the episode and then debate the moral implication at hand.

All episodes of “Curb Your Enthusiasm” will air on TV Guide Network in their entirety as full-length episodes. TV Guide Network will preserve the integrity of the show by keeping as much original content as suitable for basic cable audiences. The episodes will be edited by HBO for standards and practices, but will not be edited for time.
