TV Land greenlights early retirement sitcom

TV Land announced that it has greenlit 10 episodes of the original sitcom “Retired At 35” starring actor George Segal. The sitcom is a TV Land PRIME original production and is the network’s second venture into scripted comedy series along with “Hot in Cleveland,” which premieres on June 16th.


Chris Case is the writer for “Retired at 35” and serves as an executive producer. Michael Hanel and Mindy Schultheis are also executive producers.

In the pilot episode of “Retired at 35”, David (Johnathan McClain), a successful young businessman decides to leave the rat race of New York City behind and move into his parents’ (Segal and Jessica Walter) Florida retirement home to reconnect with them, re-evaluate his life and live the dream of retirement that so many are working toward. While in Florida, David reunites with his best friend Brandon, (Josh McDermitt) and realizes that his former crush Jessica (Ryan Michelle Bathe) is still as beautiful and elusive as ever. Living close by is David’s sister, Amy (Casey Wilson) who has finally found a boyfriend.
