TV Station Nailed for Not Turning Itself In

Dollar SignThe FCC often seems to treasure candor above all other things among its broadcast licensees, even if it means ratting one’s own self out when it’s time to apply for a license renewal.

Such was the case for KIFI-TV Idaho Falls ID, licensed to NPG of Idaho Inc.

It failed to get its Children’s Television Programming Reports filed for five of the quarters of a license term, an oversight which cost it a fine of $3,000.

It then compounded the matter by not disclosing it when filing its license renewal application.

Bang: Another $3,000.

At this point the matter is at the Notice of Apparent Liability stage, meaning the station still has a change to file for review.
