TV talk: Nexstar, Retro TV, OTA


TV RemoteOne group is programming a senatorial debate; another is putting its programming on a new affiliate; and others are setting up a programs just for analysts and investors. Here are the details:

*Nexstar is making sure that Iowans get a chance to see a face-off between senatorial candidates Bruce Braley (D) and Joni Ernst (R). KCAU-TV Sioux City and WOI-TV Des Moines will air the debate live, and it will be replayed later on WHBF in Quad Cities. The event is scheduled for 10/16/14.

*Also at Nexstar, its quarterly conference call to discuss financial results has been set. It will take place at 10:00AM Friday, 11/7/14

*OTA Broadcasting has inked a deal to bring the Retro TV network into the San Francisco-Oakland-San Jose DMA – the net will run on a digital side-channel. KAXT GM Warren Trumbly said, “Retro TV’s wealth of legendary programming was the obvious choice. We know our viewers will embrace the classic series they remember so fondly or discover for the first time.”
