Twin Falls TV dropping Fox

Channel 35 KXTF has decided that the insertion of reverse compensation into the station/network relationship has made carriage of the Fox Television Network a luxury it can no longer afford.

According to the Twin Falls Times-News, months of negotiations have failed to yield an agreement between the two parties, and as a result, the station will be ending its relationship with Fox 7/1/12.

KXTF is owned by Las Vegas-based television group Intermountain West Communications Company, formerly known as Sunbelt Communications.

According to the Times-News, KXTF management is saying that Fox’s compensation request is greater than the amount of revenue it brings in. The station says it regrets losing key Fox program offerings, particularly American Idol and professional football and baseball coverage, but is in negotiations with another network going forward.
