Two FMs move on Eastern Long Island

Jarad Broadcasting is sending WDRE-FM and WBON-FM to JVC Broadcasting in a deal with a common link: John Caracciolo, who has an interest in both companies. Caracciolo will have a bigger piece this time, along with partners Peter G Schiff, Victor Canales, Paul Homer and Henry T. Wilson.

Jarad’s principals are Ronald J. Morey and Jed R. Morey.

The two stations serve the Hamptons-Riverhead NY Arbitron market, a relatively new entrant onto the Arbitron market menu in addition to long-measured Nassau-Suffolk, covering the western portion of Long Island closer in to New York City.

WDRE-FM is licensed to Calverton-Roanoke NY and used a Rhythmic CHR format; WBON-FM hails from Westhampton NY and has a Latino format.

They will actually remain in a de facto superduopoly with Sports WLIR-FM Hampton Bays NY. That station is still owned by Jarad, but Caracciolo will has a small stake in it, linking it to the other two as a threesome.
