Two hour 'Hell's Kitchen' flames for Fox

With a two-hour block of HELL’S KITCHEN, FOX once again made gains on CBS’ Wednesday lineup, tying CBS as No. 1 on the night among Adults 18-49. FOX also ranked No. 1 last night among Adults 18-34 and Teens (tie).


HELL’S KITCHEN posted a 3.1/9 for the night among Adults 18-49, its highest rating so far this season and up +7% from last week (2.9/9). In the 8p hour, HELL’S KITCHEN outperformed Survivor among Adults 18-34 by +14% (2.5/8 vs. 2.2/7).

Competition

On ABC, The Middle (2.4/8) was down -8% from its prior season average, downtrending through its first 3 weeks this season (2.7/9 > 2.5/8 > 2.4/8). At 8:30p, Better With You (2.3/7) was up +5%, while Modern Family (4.5/12) dropped -2% week over week and was down -6% from its prior season average. Cougar Town (3.1/8) & The Whole Truth (1.4/4) were both average for the season, but down -18% and -42% from their respective time periods through 3 weeks last fall (Cougar Town – 3.8/10 & Eastwick – 2.4/7).

On CBS, Survivor: Nicaragua (3.6/11) and Criminal Minds (3.5/9) were on par versus last week (up +3% and down -3%, respectively). At 10p, The Defenders (2.1/6) continued its descent, falling -16% versus last week and -22% from its prior season average (2.7/8), and registering as CBS’s lowest regular original telecast in the time period in nearly seven years (48 Hours Investigates, 1.7/4 on 12/10/2003).

NBC dramas Undercovers (1.5/4) & Law & Order: SVU (2.5/7) were both their lowest so far this season, down -6% and -11% from their telecasts last week.  Law & Order: Los Angeles posted a 2.4/7, down -25% from its series debut one week ago (3.2/10).
