Two-hour ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ gives Fox Wednesday victory

With the 2-hour Wednesday time period premiere of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE, FOX won last night among Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34, Teens and Total Viewers.


SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE posted a 2.8/9 for the night among Adults 18-49 and was the highest rated program of the night among Adults 18-49 (tied with NBC’s America’s Got Talent) and Adults 18-34.

Compared to last week’s Thursday premiere on 5/27/10, SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE was down -7% among Adults 18-49, but retained 97% of its performance in Adults 18-34 (2.9/11 vs. 3.0/11).

In fact, summer-to-date SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE shows impressive gains compared to its Fall’09 average on Tue/Wed, increasing +21% among Adults 18-49, +16% among Adults 18-34,+42% among Teens and +26% in Total Viewers.

Competition
ABC ran back-to-back repeats of The Middle at 8p (1.3/5) and 830p (1.4/5), followed by repeats of Modern Family (1.6/5) and Cougar Town (1.3/4).  An original episode of Happy Town posted a 0.8/2 at 10p.
CBS aired special repeats of How I Met Your Mother (1.4/5) at 8p and Rules of Engagement (1.5/5) at 830p, a repeat Criminal Minds (1.7/5) at 9p and a repeat CSI: NY (1.8/5) at 10p.

Following a special encore of new series Losing It With Jillian (1.0/4), night two of NBC’s America’s Got Talent posted a 2.8/8, dropping -22% from its season launch on Tuesday (3.6/11) and -10% from its comparable Wednesday premiere last summer (3.1/9 on 6/24/09).  A repeat Law & Order: SVU delivered a 1.9/6 at 10p.
