Two-hours of 'The X Factor' at FOX hold audience

With the Thanksgiving holiday approaching, many broadcast shows hit season lows last night, while Dancing With the Stars posted its fall series low.


On FOX, a special Tuesday installment of THE X FACTOR aired out of pattern last night against heavy reality competition and posted a 3.2/9, down -18% from last week’s Wednesday performance show (3.9/10).

Even so, THE X FACTOR still dominated among younger viewers – it was the highest rated program of the night among Teens.    

FOX ranked #2 for the night among Adults 18-49 and #1 among Adults 18-34 and Teens.

Competition

Following Last Man Standing (2.7/8, up +4%) and Man Up! (1.9/5, up +12%), ABC’s Dancing with the Stars (4.1/11) posted its lowest rated fall finale ever, down -23% from last year’s finale on 11/23/10 (5.3/15).  This season of Dancing with the Stars (3.2/8 overall) was its lowest rated ever, -9% below its previous low (3.5/9 in fall 2009).

On CBS, NCIS (3.5/10, down -13%) and NCIS: Los Angeles (3.0/8, down -12%) both dropped to season lows, while new drama Unforgettable finished the night at a series low 2.2/6, down -8% from last week.

NBC’s The Biggest Loser posted a 2.0/5 at 8p – down -5% from last week – and up to this point is off to the franchise’s worst start ever, down -19% from its previous lowest installment through ten telecasts (2.1/6 vs. 2.6/7 last fall). Parenthood (1.9/5, down -5%) closed out the night with its season low.
