Two Texas FM CPs being sold

Gerald Benavides has applied to the FCC to sell a pair of construction permits, one that is “slightly west” of Houston TX and another that is “slightly east” of Abilene TX – in other words, in no way are they an overlapping pair. The buyer is Leticia Moreno, who will be doing business as Moreno Broadcasting.

The Houston station is KJJB-FM, licensed to Eagle Lake TX. It will be a Class C3 on 95.3 MHz with 25 kW @ 328’.

The Abilene station does not yet have call letters. It is licensed to Baird TX. It will also be a Class C3 with 25 kW @ 328’. It’ll be a few clicks up the dial, however, at 96.5 MHz.

Moreno will pay $150K cash for the duo. She is seeking the FCC’s 18-month CP extension being made available to eligible entities in order to get the stations built.
