On Thursday, April 30, 2020, news of an activist investor seeking to gain sway on a company’s board of directors made headlines. While Soohyung Kim’s desires to influence and ultimately control TEGNA was a big topic of discussion at the time, the report from RBR+TVBR focused on a group that had secured an “information sharing and cooperation agreement” with the company it has a big stake in — Nielsen.

Today, that entity, Elliott Management Group, could end up owning the nation’s dominant audience measurement and consumer data analytics firm.
