Union fires shot at NBCU

Contract talks, last held in December, resume today between NBC Universal ant the National Association of Broadcast Employees and Technicians-CWA. Even before returning to the negotiating table, NABET-CWA President John S. Clark lashed out at NBCU, charging that the company has been trying to “cut quality jobs and benefits” by creating new non-union jobs at its O&O stations to replace union workers, moving its unionized hub operations to non-union locations and assigning work to non-union operations such as MSNBC, CNBC and The Weather Channel.
