Univision acquires Mexican National Soccer Team rights

Univision Communications announced that it has acquired exclusive US Spanish-language television and digital rights to all Mexican National Soccer Team games.
 
Univision networks will now be the exclusive US home of the Mexican National Soccer Team, with rights to all of their qualifying matches for the 2014 FIFA World Cup as well as friendly matches.


“Outside of the FIFA World Cup, the Mexican National Soccer Team is the premiere soccer attraction for U.S. Hispanic audiences. This acquisition solidifies Univision’s position as the premiere provider of soccer programming in the United States and we are thrilled to be able to offer the best soccer content to our loyal audiences across our television, video-on-demand, online and mobile platforms,” said Cesar Conde, President of the Univision Networks.

Univision’s other soccer properties include: 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cup, FIFA 2013 Confederations Cup, FIFA Under-20 World Championships, FIFA Under-17 World Championships, FIFA Women’s World Cup, US Men’s National Team, CONCACAF Gold Cup, home games of 6 Mexican League Soccer (FLM) teams, CONCACAF Champions’ League, Major League Soccer (MLS) and SuperLiga.
