Univision IPO Faces Changing TV Watching

Univision faces several challenges as the media owner plans an initial public offering this fall.

Shares of visual media companies have taken a hit on Wall Street recently because of concerns over ratings declines and weaker ad sales, and because consumers are dropping cable and satellite TV subscriptions, reports the New York Times.

These factors, plus increased competition from rival network programming aimed at Hispanic viewers in addition to the recent stock market volatility have some industry executives and Wall Street analysts questions the timing on the IPO, according to the NYT.
