Univision Names Chief Global Security Officer

Univision Communications, Inc.Univision Communications Inc. now has a Chief Global Security Officer — a newly created position. Diego Rodriguez is filling the job, he was head of the FBI’s New York Field Office where he supervised more than 2,200 FBI agents and professional support personnel.


Rodriguez will be based at Univision’s New York headquarters and report to company Chief Legal and Corporate Affairs Officer Jonathan Schwartz.

Rodriguez will oversee and coordinate enterprise-wide security efforts to ensure that Univision has practices in place to safeguard the company, its people and its critical assets. Rodriguez will develop and implement a strategy that has the flexibility to adjust to rapid change in business, technology and information flow. He will work closely with UCI’s senior leadership team, including Margaret Lazo, Chief Human Resources Officer, to whom he also report.

Preparation, collaboration and communication will be key to UCI’s security strategy, Rodriguez stated.

Rodriguez worked in various roles at the FBI from 1990 to 2016. Earlier in his FBI career, he was stationed in Miami, Puerto Rico, Dallas and Washington, D.C.
