Univision will hold its annual Upfront in NYC at 3:00 pm on Thursday, 5/19 at the New Amsterdam Theatre.  Univision execs will detail what’s going on with their  media assets including Univision, TeleFutura, Galavisión, TuTv Networks (including De Película, De Película Clásico, Telehit, Ritmoson Latino and Bandamax), Univision Local Media, Univision.com, and Univision Móvil.

The company will also likely highlight findings from the 2010 U.S. Census showing the increase in Hispanics was higher than the Census’ latest projections. The Census Bureau released the first state results for Louisiana, Mississippi, New Jersey and Virginia and Hispanic growth was higher than projected. Hispanics accounted for most of the growth in the states of Louisiana and New Jersey where the non-Hispanic white populations shrank, and about a third of all growth in Mississippi (34%) and Virginia (33%). The Hispanic share of the state populations has increased to 17.7% in New Jersey; 7.9% in Virginia; 4.2% in Louisiana, and 2.7% in Mississippi.

“The U.S. Census data released for Louisiana, Mississippi, New Jersey and Virginia speaks to the anticipated growth of Hispanics across the U.S.,” said Elizabeth Ellers, EVP/Corporate Research, Univision. “This data speaks to the changing face of America and to the opportunities for private and public entities to understand and connect with this booming segment of the U.S. population.”
