The soap opera format maybe all but extinct on English-language US program outlets, but it is alive and well in the Hispanic universe. And pay service Univision tlnovelas has two new offerings, one which has debutted and another which is about to.
“El Privilegio de Amar” opened for business 5/7/12, and airs MF at 6PM Eastern/3PM Pacific.
“Las Tontas No Van Al Cielo” opens 5/14/12, and airs 8PM Eastern/5PM Pacific.

“El Privilegio de Amar” (The Right to Love), starring Adela Noriega, Helena Rojo, and René Strickler – A famous fashion designer begins a desperate search for the daughter she abandoned as a baby. But the young woman is closer than she thinks—it’s the beautiful Cristina, the newest model for her apparel line.
“Las Tontas No Van Al Cielo” (Dumb Girls Don’t Go to Heaven), starring Jacqueline Bracamontes and Jaime Camil – Devastated after discovering that her husband cheated on her with her sister, Candy leaves him and fakes her own death to start a new life in another city. There she meets a handsome plastic surgeon who will become the new love of her life, despite the many forces working against their happiness.
