Untangling Legalities of TV Using Drones

TV, however, is more likely to use drones as a possible less expensive alternative to owning or leasing helicopters.

Federal, state and local governments are trying to implement a myriad of laws governing news use of drones, with regard to privacy and safety concerns.

Wilkinson Barker Knauer attorney David Oxenford says some 45 states have passed laws restricting drone use and members of Congress are introducing a slew of bills to do the same; while those are not expected to pass, they could influence decisions made by various federal agencies considering drone policy or inspire states to take action.
