US population tops 300M

It’s old news that the US population total has topped the 300 million mark, and 2009 certainly did nothing to change that reality. It has jumped about 2.6M over the course of the past year.


The actual number quoted by Census is 308,400,408. That’s a 0.9% increase over 2009, on an increase of 2,606,181 people.

Census says that somebody is born every eight seconds, which amounts to 7.5 births per minute. Meanwhile, there is a 12 second gap between deaths, or 5 per minute.

RBR-TVBR observation: Now if we can just figure out a way to get them all tuned into the same program at the same time…
