USA Radio Network merges with IRN

Dallas-based USA Radio Network has merged with Memphis-based Information Radio Network to form the new IRN/USA Radio Network for a combined roster of 2,500 affiliates. Programming will be unaffected by the merger. USA’s news ops will relocate to Memphis, but the new entity will keep a Dallas bureau. Ad sales, affiliate relations, and syndication operations will stay in Dallas as well.

"Everyone at IRN and USA are very excited about this merger," said Information Radio Network CEO Dr. Larry Bates. "There exists a compatible corporate culture between the two companies that makes this a perfect fit. In our current radio climate, it is essential that organizations combine their strengths to compete more effectively and this is exactly what IRN and USA are doing."
