USRN debuts “Animadio”

United Stations Radio Networks announced that its Comedy Division will begin offering animated versions of a number of its radio comedy bits as video content for affiliates and their websites.  The service, known as “Animadio,” was launched this week with a series of animated videos created using audio from some of the network’s popular recent comedy productions.  United Stations EVP/Comedy, David “Dr. Dave” Kolin made the announcement at the company’s HQ in NYC.

The new Animation Service from USRN uses a team of animators working primarily in the Flash animation format to create companion video pieces to the networks already existing short-form comedy offerings.   The animated short videos enhance the original audio bits on which they are based, and each of the audio versions were originally produced and serviced to affiliates as part of their ongoing affiliation with one of USRN’s various comedy services.   USRN’s comedy offerings are the leading services of their kind, and are available to affiliates in every major radio format in America.    The company’s radio comedy services are primarily utilized by subscribing morning drive personalities who use the material to augment their local shows, and now with the addition of animated versions of the comedic bits, affiliates can expand their exclusive comedy content to their station’s or their personalities websites.

Kolin tells RBR The animations are being distributed every week to over 50 stations over the next 90 days…with Z100 in NY and Y100 in Miami already running them. “They will have national sponsorships with local sponsor opportunities. They Skewer politics and popular culture….and the premium package includes custom animations of local station personalities and features. We are looking to build a new division of United Stations that will not limit itself to radio, but become a creative force in advertising, televsion and new media.”

Samples of the new service are available at
Animadio joins United Stations’ other Comedy offerings including Laugh Attack (Urban), Solid Gold Comedy (Oldies), News Flash Comedy (News/Talk), Comedy on Demand (Customized) and of course, the networks’ very first comedy service, Dr. Dave’s Comedy Drops.   USRN also services morning shows with prep material delivered by Pulse Content (formerly the Launch Radio Network).
