Utah AM sold out of receivership

SoldFamilia Broadcasting is getting KOGN-AM with eyes wide open – the contract specifically notes that the troubled station is being sold “as is, where is” and that the buyer is aware of its condition.

Familia principal Danette Acosta should be familiar – according to a contract attachment, she’s had an LMA in place to operate the station since 9/3/10.

The seller is Wayne Klein, receiver for AM Radio 1490 Inc.

The price will be a modest $25K cash.

The station is licensed to Ogden UT, to the north of Salt Lake City. It’s 1490 kHz Class C signal (1 kW-U, non-directional) serves the area to the north of SLC and puts a lower-quality contour over the actual city.

Klein has three other stations for sale as receiver: KENT-AM Parowan UT, KPTO-AM Pocatello ID and KITT-FM Soda Springs ID.
