VMIX announced a strategic partnership with Qik, Inc. to deliver mobile live streaming services. As part of the agreement, the companies are integrating Qik’s Mobile Live Streaming technology with VMIX’s Online Video Platform to provide VMIX clients with a single, seamless solution for live, mobile and on-demand video.

“We’re seeing great interest in live streaming from media, non-profit, education and enterprise customers,” said Qik CEO and Founder Ramu Sunkara. “VMIX’s success in providing total online video solutions for these markets made them a natural choice as a partner. Teaming with VMIX, we can offer a complete, proven solution that will allow these industries to meet all of their online video needs.”

President and CEO of VMIX Mike Glickenhaus said the business benefits and applications of mobile live streaming are many for VMIX clients. “Whether websites use mobile streaming to run live coverage of events, product launches and training seminars, or to draw fresh content and participation from their site users, this solution opens up new opportunities for strengthening audience engagement and growing revenue.”

Glickenhaus added that the integration of VMIX and Qik technologies offers the best in live mobile streaming and delivery. “Qik’s low latency rates, ease of use, adaptive streaming and multi-pass encoding make for a premium experience for mobile users, and VMIX’s robust media-management and technology framework makes it so much easier for companies to build out client-facing applications quickly.

“We have clients working to roll out the VMIX-Qik mobile live streaming solution as part of their strategy to increase local coverage and content submissions from their audiences. They understand that seizing and deploying technologies like mobile live streaming gives them the edge in reducing the cost of content creation, growing their audience engagement, and increasing revenues.”
