Steve Swad, chief financial officer (CFO) Vox Media, will offer a keynote address entitled The Future of Media during the 59th annual conference for the Media Financial Management Association (MFM) and its BCCA subsidiary, the media industry’s credit association. Swad will open the conference on Wednesday, May 22, at 8:30 a.m.

Themed Big Ideas in the Big Easy,  the conference will take place May 20-22 at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside, New Orleans, La.

There is no question that media’s future will be different from its past. The increasing and enormous scale of the largest players, evolving technologies, an explosion of content, and new distribution channels all mean that change is inevitable and expected. At the same time, the past does inform the future. With a background that includes positions in both traditional media and notable technology start-ups, and his current responsibility for strategic deployment of capital to grow a digital content company, Swad is uniquely qualified to discuss the future of media.

“Charting the seismic shifts in media is daunting at the least,” said Mary M. Collins, president, and CEO of MFM and BCCA. “Swad’s insights based on his work in technology, financial services, and traditional media provide him a unique perspective into what’s next; we’re excited to have him share his thoughts with our conference participants.”

RBR+TVBR Editor-in-Chief Adam R Jacobson will be joined by vCreative president and co-founder Jinny Laderer in presenting The Best Finance Leaders during a Media Finance Focus 2019 luncheon session scheduled for Tuesday, May 22.
