Throughout 2010, W Radio 690 AM SoCal “La voz del Pueblo” has offered support to various social causes, in order to improve the lives and environment of the community. For the 12/4 – 12/5 weekend, Grupo Latino de Radio’s W Radio  participated in this year’s Teletón, held Estadio Nacional in Santiago, Chile. Teletón is a 27-hour telethon to raise funds to help children with developmental disabilities (most commonly cerebral palsy). It is aired by most major television and radio stations and is hosted by television personality Mario Kreutzberger, a.k.a. Don Francisco.

In 1997 Mexico took the lead in Don Francisco’s cause, with the help of 70 media, entertainment personalities, different companies and the entire nation. Now the historic Mexican telethon, a project that, through values such as love, generosity and solidarity, raises funds with the firm intention to promote a better quality of life for children and youth with disabilities.

Mirthala Salinas, host of “La Ventana” (Monday to Friday, 3 to 5 pm) will participate in the transmission starting 12/3 on W Radio 690, together with the other media that have joined the cause.
