Walgreens partners with "The Dr. Oz Show" on Flu prevention

The nationally-syndicated daily TV talker from Harpo Entertainment featuring Dr. Mehmet Oz is teaming with the pharmacy chain to educate the public about the importance of flu prevention. As part of an overall partnership for the show’s second season, they’ll collaborate on a number of other timely health topics in the coming months. The partnership includes a number of elements and media integrations. This effort was created and developed in partnership with Sony Pictures Television and LiquidThread, the content creation agency within Starcom MediaVest Group.


Walgreens pharmacist Stacia Woodcock will appear on the 9/21 episode of the show to discuss the latest info regarding the 2010-2011 flu season. In addition, Woodcock will administer a flu shot to Dr. Oz during the show.

In-store collateral featuring Dr. Oz provides information about fighting the flu and encourages people to “Arm Yourself for the Ones You Love,” Walgreens flu shot campaign. The signage will appear in all of the more than 7,500 Walgreens stores nationwide.

Additionally, select Walgreens prescriptions will include co-branded flu prevention tips for consumers, from “The Dr. Oz Show” and Walgreens.
