Upbeat talk from JC Penney thrilled Wall Street on Friday, with traders apparently forgetting that much larger retailer Wal-Mart had been more guarded just a day earlier. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 73 points, or 0.7%, to 10,270. Broadcasting stocks went along for the ride.
The RBR Radio Index was up 2.896, or 1.8%, to 165.939.
The TVBR Television Index was up 2.046, or 1.9%, to 110.701.
