Big-box retailer Walmart charged up its radio spots this week, based on data from Media Monitors for the week ending Dec. 10.
But, the retailer is also a big use of spot cable.
With 27,766 spots placed at the networks tracked by Media Monitors, Walmart places at No. 4 in the latest Spot Ten Cable report — a jump from No. 14.
While it is a move upward for total spots, Walmart still greatly trails brick-and-mortar retailer JCPenney — at No. 2 with some 38,013 spots at cable.
Still, the retail category is thin for cable — with Toys R Us the only other store advertising during a potentially busy holiday shopping week.
