WAMU changes schedule for 88.5 HD3 “Intersection”

American University’s WAMU-FM 88.5 DC has made changes to the weekday schedule for its Intersection 88.5 HD3. From 10-11 a.m., Monday-Friday, Intersection will air BBC World Service. BBC World Briefing will air at 10 a.m., followed by The Strand at 10:30 a.m., and Witness, at 10:50 a.m. The BBC programming fills the schedule slot previously held by The Michael Eric Dyson Show, which has ceased production.


Intersection is a news and information station broadcasting international coverage from the BBC and offering public radio programs unavailable elsewhere in the Washington area.

From noon-1 p.m., Monday-Friday, Intersection will broadcast Q with Jian Ghomeshi, a daily entertainment magazine produced by CBC/Radio-Canada. The program covers both pop culture and high arts, and includes interviews with a diverse range of figures.

WAMU also airs on 88.3 Ocean City, MD; WAMU’s Bluegrass Country, a bluegrass and American roots station, at 105.5 FM in Bethesda, Md., 93.5 FM in Frederick-Hagerstown, Md., and 88.5 HD2.
