InterMedia’s WAPA-TV, serving San Juan PR from nearby Guaynabo, is the home of Major League Baseball on the Caribbean Island US territory. It will be airing two games weekly plus a full selection of marquee baseball events.

WAPA, an indy, also has full-power satellite television stations serving Ponce and Mayaguez.

In addition to its weekly pair of regular season games, WAPA will broadcast the All-Star Game, as well as play-off and World Series games.

The station will tailor its regular game selections to feature Major Leaguers that hail from the island. “Producing some of the sport’s most legendary players, Puerto Rico has had a profound impact on Major League Baseball and we’re excited to bring MLB to WAPA and WAPA 2 and to highlight the current Puerto Rican players in the Major Leagues,” said Jose E. Ramos, President of WAPA Television.  “We’re proud to offer our viewers the most extensive coverage of the 2010 season on the Island and to offer our advertisers an opportunity to reach the substantial MLB fan base in Puerto Rico.”
