An AM-FM combo in Lebanon TN, a community which is east of and also part of the Nashville Arbitron market, is getting a little sister for a nominal amount of cash. The seller is Finbar Broadcasting Company.

The buyer of WCOR-AM Lebanon TN is Bay-Pointe Broadcasting Inc., headed by Susan and Edwin James. The pair already owns WKDA-AM and WANT-FM, both licensed to the same community.

Finbar is owned by William O. Barry, the principal of Great Southern Broadcasting Company. Barry retains ownership of Standards WAMB-AM in Nashville.

The price for WCOR is $10K cash. The buyer and seller cut to the chase on the deal, filling up just a few scant pages of legalese to create a contract.

WCOR is a Class C on 1490 kHz with 1 kW-U, ND. According to a BIA report submitted to support Bay-Pointe’s local ownership exhibit, it uses a Country/Sports format.

It joins 900 kHz WKDA-AM, with 5 kW-D, 136 W-N, ND, said to be broadcasting Hispanic/Christian programming; and 98.9 MHz WANT-FM, with 5 kW @ 318’, which like WCOR is said to be using a Country/Sports format.

All three of the stations serve the area east of Nashville, but do not put a primary signal over the city. They have a marginal presence in the Nashville Arbitrons.
